Dr. Talukdar Joins Staff at Methodist Vascular & Vein
Published: July 18, 2018OMAHA – Dr. Anjan Talukdar, a vascular surgeon who recently joined the staff at Methodist Physicians Clinic Vascular & Vein, knew from a young age he was interested in medicine.
“My dad was a physician and I always looked up to him,” Dr. Talukdar said. “He was dedicated to his patients, and at the same time he had time for his family, so I thought if I can do something like that it would be awesome.”
Dr. Talukdar began his education at All India Institute of Medical Sciences, earning his bachelor of medicine and bachelor of surgery.
His medical training includes a general surgery residency in Omaha at Creighton University – where he spent time working at Methodist – and a vascular surgery fellowship at Indiana University in Indianapolis. He was most recently a vascular surgeon at SSM Health in Madison, Wisconsin.
His familiarity with Methodist and its collaborative environment helped draw him back.
“All the different specialties work together for the best outcome that they can achieve for a particular patient,” he said.
While Dr. Talukdar is a trained surgeon, he offers a range of treatments that include lifestyle modification and minimally invasive procedures. That variety of care is what he enjoys.
“It’s not about the physical act of doing a particular surgery; it’s more about interaction with each patient,” he said. “So I think I cherish each encounter or every time I meet a patient and try to see if I can make a difference.”
Dr. Talukdar is now seeing patients at West Dodge Medical Plaza (515 N. 162nd Ave.). Appointments can be made by calling 402-354-1200.
