Maureen Boyle, MD New OB/GYN In Council Bluffs
Published: July 14, 2016COUNCIL BLUFFS - An OB/GYN physician excited to bring her expertise to Council Bluffs is the newest member of the Methodist Physicians Clinic OB/GYN group and is now seeing patients at the Methodist Physicians Clinic Ridge Building located on the Methodist Jennie Edmundson Hospital campus.
Dr. Maureen Boyle has spent time in Omaha, Maine and St. Joseph, Missouri. She earned her undergraduate degree at the University of Nebraska Omaha, followed by her medical degree at the University of Nebraska Medical Center.
Her residency training took her to Maine Medical Center in Portland, Maine, where she specialized in obstetrics and gynecology. For the past 15 years, Dr. Boyle has been a physician in St. Joseph, Missouri.
Her philosophy on patient care is simple.
“The most important component of the doctor-patient relationship is trust,” Dr. Boyle said. “When I see patients and have a problem to solve I apply the mother-sister-daughter rule. If this person were my mother, my sister or my daughter, knowing what I know, would I want her to have that treatment. By treating her like family, my goal is for us to come up with a healthy treatment plan she’s happy with.”
Volunteerism has been an important part of her career and has not gone unnoticed by her respective communities. She has been honored as the Heartland Regional Medical Center Physician of the Year, received the Heartland Regional Medical Center Physician Humanitarian Award, the Heartland Regional Medical Center Distinguished Physician Award and the University of Missouri Faculty Excellence in Teaching Award recipient.
