Published: Aug. 13, 2021

On Thursday, Aug. 12, Methodist was among eight of Nebraska's major health systems to mandate COVID-19 vaccines for employees. Garnet Blatchford, MD, vice president of medical affairs and chief medical officer for Methodist Hospital and Methodist Women’s Hospital, joined other Nebraska health system leaders in a press conference to discuss the vaccination requirements.

"We think this is the ideal time to give people the extra incentive to get vaccinated and hopefully prevent what's going on in some of the Southern hospitals," Dr. Blatchford said.
