Congratulations to Tyler Raygor, BSN, RN, a registered nurse in the Methodist Hospital Acute Care Float Pool, for being honored with The DAISY Nurse Leader Award.

The Nebraska Methodist College graduate was nominated for the award while serving as a nurse coordinator in the Cardiovascular Surgery Unit. His nominators, Allison Frazee, Jonathan Bland and Rachel Cimino, wrote:

“Tyler is one of the strongest and most influential leaders I have had in my four years of bedside nursing. He consistently demonstrates exemplary practice – whether he is working on the floor as a staff nurse or guiding and supporting the team in the core role.

“Tyler’s extraordinary actions show up in both the big and small moments – from helping me take a critically ill, long-term patient to the breezeway in the middle of the night because I felt they needed a change of scenery, to recommending books and podcasts that deepen my knowledge of clinical care. His passion for learning has spread like wildfire on our unit, inspiring a culture where curiosity, critical thinking and evidence-based practice thrive alongside genuine care and compassion. He embodies the perfect balance of science and humanity that nursing requires – plus just the right amount of humor to get us through long night shifts.

“Tyler creates an environment that fosters care and compassion through approachable leadership and open communication. Nurses feel safe speaking up, asking questions and debriefing after stressful events because he promotes teamwork and emotional support. He models trust, mutual respect, professional development and ethical practice by encouraging education, certification pursuits and accountability. He celebrates successes big and small, which boosts morale and encourages nurses to strive for better patient outcomes.

“Every time I work with Tyler, I see him talk to every single patient, introduce himself and ask if they need anything. He is always helping without being asked.

“He brings light to all shifts he works, gets people motivated to do their jobs, to be better and be excited to be there. Tyler puts everyone above himself and is truly one of the best people and nurses I’ve ever met."
