Methodist Physicians Clinic - Millard welcomes Dr. Amy Whittle to its family medicine team

Published: Feb. 28, 2026

Amy Whittle, MD, discovered her calling as a young girl – while volunteering and spending time with her mom on the hospital rehabilitation floor where she worked.

“I would help with small clerical tasks here and there, but I also got to spend time visiting with patients,” she said. “Having the opportunity to build meaningful, long-term relationships while supporting people through some of the most vulnerable moments of their lives is what drew me to medicine.”

Dr. Whittle, a former physician in the U.S. Air Force, has experience caring for active-duty military members and retired veterans, which she credits for her adaptability and calm decision-making under pressure. She has also worked as a newborn hospitalist and in urgent and outpatient care settings.

Now a family medicine physician at Methodist Physicians Clinic - Millard, Dr. Whittle enjoys caring for patients across their lifespans within the context of their families, environments and life circumstances.

Her clinical interests include preventive care, chronic disease management, women’s health and pediatrics. She most enjoys witnessing the impact that care continuity has on each of her patients.

“I love watching them grow, seeing their health improve and helping them navigate life with more confidence. Being able to support them over time and celebrate their progress is incredibly fulfilling,” she said.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Whittle, a mother of three – including twins – enjoys spending time with her family and their poodle. She also enjoys weight training, which she’s especially passionate about as an important part of women’s health during perimenopause and menopause. She believes taking care of herself helps her show up fully and consistently for her family and patients.
