Methodist Physicians Clinic welcomes OB/GYN Dr. Jaycee Housh to Women's Health team
Published: Sept. 6, 2024Jaycee Housh, MD, doesn’t remember what exactly drew her to medicine at a young age, but she’ll never forget what led her to her specialty.
“I fell in love with OB/GYN when I delivered my first baby as a medical student,” she said. “And once I realized how much variety in the day-to-day work there is as an OB/GYN, that’s what really solidified my decision.”
Dr. Housh, who sees women of all ages at Methodist Physicians Clinic, truly enjoys the full scope of obstetrics and gynecology – including clinic medicine and procedures. But she’s especially passionate about helping families navigate challenging pregnancies and deliveries, and being part of a “rainbow baby’s” journey.
“To see the joy on those families’ faces when they deliver a healthy baby – there are really no words to describe it,” she said. “It’s kind of a once-in-a-lifetime experience. And the fact that I get to do that as part of my everyday job is really incredible.”
Dr. Housh is dedicated to personalizing care and fostering close relationships with each of her patients.
“I think getting to know the patient as a human before taking the medicine part of it into account is really important,” she said. “It makes them feel more at ease and comfortable, and it fosters that open communication and trust that really make for a strong patient-provider relationship.”
When she’s not in clinic or delivering babies, Dr. Housh enjoys traveling the world and spending time with her family, friends and cockapoo, Hank.
