Methodist Women’s Hospital only hospital in Nebraska to earn highest U.S. News & World Report maternity care recognition

U.S. News & World Report, the global authority in hospital rankings and consumer advice, has named Methodist Women’s Hospital a 2024-2025 High Performing Hospital for Maternity Care (Uncomplicated Pregnancy).

This is the highest award a hospital can earn for U.S. News & World Report’s Best Hospitals for Maternity Care. Once again, Methodist Women’s Hospital – home to roughly 5,000 births each year – was the only hospital in Nebraska to earn this status. The hospital was recognized for the same honor in 2022-2023 and 2023-2024.

“The fact that Methodist Women’s Hospital has remained the only hospital in Nebraska to earn this recognition for the third year in a row is a testament to the relentless above-and-beyond efforts of our physicians, nurses and support staff,” said Patty Bauer, vice president of Methodist Women’s Hospital. “May this recognition remind our patients of our ongoing commitment to their safety, comfort and well-being as we continue our tireless work to remain the region’s leader in women’s health services.”

The U.S. News & World Report Best Hospitals for Maternity Care methodology is based on objective measures of quality, such as C-section rates in lower-risk pregnancies, newborn complication rates, exclusive breast milk feeding rates, early elective delivery rates, birthing-friendly practices and transparency on racial/ethnic disparities, among other measures.

Of the record 817 hospitals that submitted maternity data to U.S. News this year, only 414 earned a High Performing rating.
