Methodist Women's Hospital partners with state program to help NICU babies well after they leave the hospital

Published: July 17, 2024

John “Buddy” McClinton, who weighed 14.1 ounces and measured 9.65 inches when he was born on Labor Day 2023, is the smallest baby born at Methodist Women's Hospital to survive.

Last week, the 10-month-old had an assessment through the Developmental TIPS (Tracking Infant Progress Statewide) program. Funded by the Nebraska Departments of Education and Health and Human Services and coordinated by the University of Nebraska Medical Center’s Munroe-Meyer Institute, TIPS is free to families of babies who’ve spent 72 hours or more in a NICU. It aims to determine how children are progressing in development and connect them with resources to ensure their success.
