Omaha Cancer Patient, Physical Therapist Find Friendship Through Music

Published: Dec. 12, 2023

During some of Mike Morgan’s darkest recovery days, he found himself suffering from mild depression and lacked the motivation to do much of anything – including physical therapy, which his body desperately needed.

That’s when his physical therapist, Shannon Seeley, got an idea.

After spending so much time together and eventually discovering their shared love of music, Seeley proposed that they get together and play sometime.

With Mike on bass guitar and Shannon at the microphone, the patient and therapist started a two-person band, which ended up being exactly the therapy Mike needed – mentally, emotionally and physically.

The two still get together every Sunday to “jam,” and they recently held their first concert for family and friends.
