Omaha World-Herald: CHI Rivals See Business Boom in Standoff

CHI Health is losing millions of dollars and thousands of patient visits as a result of its conflict with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Nebraska.

Blue Cross dropped CHI Health from its network last September, saying CHI’s prices needed to come down toward those of Nebraska Medicine and the Methodist Health System. Neither side has relented, but talks continue.

“I know that it has to sting both of them,” said Kim Lobato, senior vice president with Aon Risk Solutions in Omaha, a health and benefits consultant.
