Quick Action by Husband, Firefighters, Jennie Edmundson Staff Helps Save Woman's Life After Heart Attack

Published: Dec. 13, 2023

Jerry Wiser knew something was out of the ordinary when his wife, Kris, told him a little after 6 a.m. on Oct. 23 that she didn’t feel well and wasn’t going to work.

“It’s the one thing we can count on, is her going to work,” Wiser said.

Kris was experiencing a heart attack, and what followed highlights the importance of everyday citizens learning CPR. Thanks to Jerry's quick action in calling 911 and beginning CPR, the work of first responders and emergency care at Methodist Jennie Edmundson Hospital, Kris is now eager to catch up with Christmas shopping and get back to work.
