Video: Great Birth Plans Start at Methodist Jennie Edmundson Hospital, Part 2
Published: Nov. 18, 2020The December opening of Methodist Jennie Edmundson Hospital’s new floor dedicated to women and newborns is getting closer. And our team of OB/GYN providers and specialists is incredibly eager to care for you and your baby in this state-of-the-art, 18,000-square-foot space.
The upgraded floor joins the recently completed Methodist Jennie Edmundson Medical Plaza, making Jennie Edmundson the premier destination for women’s health care in southwest Iowa.
“Patients are going to be very excited to see all the changes that we’ve made,” said OB/GYN Lori Platt, MD. “These changes, in addition to being esthetically pleasing, have important safety features built in that are very important to our patients and their brand new babies and families.”
“We have the ability to do a lot more nonpharmaceutical interventions for pregnancy – so not necessarily just giving patients an epidural,” added nurse midwife Desiree Hericks, CNM. “We have the ability to not intervene as much, which makes the midwife in me very excited to be able to meet those needs of women.”
