'To Look and Feel Beautiful': Specialty Salon for Breast Cancer Patients, Survivors Ease Physical Effects of Disease

Published: Oct. 28, 2022

When you step into Inner Beauty, at every turn you're met with a message of hope and assurance.

"They just want to look and feel beautiful in their own skin," said Salon Coordinator, Lori Fuchs.

Fuchs said that's why she and three other Clinical Cosmetologists run the specialty salon for breast cancer patients.

"We do prosthetic fittings and bra fittings, we help all types of symmetry issues for that breast cancer, whether it's post-reconstruction, or post-full mastectomy, or unilateral, bilateral mastectomies," she said.

As Board Certified Mastectomy fitters, Fuchs said they fill in the missing pieces with prosthetics with a closet stacked high full of different ones to choose from. Inner Beauty also exists to help survivors with cancer's effects on the hair, skin and body.
