Dr. Brilz Joins Staff at Methodist Physicians Clinic HealthWest
Published: Dec. 23, 2019For Dr. Dorota “Dee” Brilz, being a physician is all about forming relationships with patients and their families. In fact, being able to develop those close relationships is what drew her to family medicine, she said.
“I will take the time to listen to you,” said Dr. Brilz, who is now seeing patients at Methodist Physicians Clinic HealthWest. “I’ll listen to your story, get to know you and really try to understand what’s important to you and your health.”
Dr. Brilz is especially interested in preventive care and helping patients develop plans to manage challenges such as hypertension, diabetes and obesity. She is fluent in Spanish.
She studied as an undergraduate at Carroll College in Helena, Montana, and attended medical school at Creighton University Medical Center. She completed her residency at Clarkson Family Medicine in Omaha and practiced at Nebraska Medicine for over a decade before coming to Methodist.
“I look forward to many more moments where I get to see children grow up to be young adults,” Dr. Brilz said. “I love seeing families being able to achieve their health goals.”
Outside of work, Dr. Brilz keeps busy by spending time her with husband and two daughters. She also is active in her church and enjoys running.
