Published: March 1, 2016OMAHA – Papillion-La Vista native Amanda Buskevicius, MD, is returning to the Omaha community after a stint as an OB/GYN in Lincoln.
Dr. Buskevicius will be providing OB/GYN care at Methodist Physicians Clinic Women’s Center and will also see patients at the Methodist Physicians Clinic Gretna location.
Dr. Buskevicius chose OB/GYN as her specialty after the first day of her OB/GYN rotation. Although the day was challenging, she knew then, it was the specialty for her.
“I have the privilege of taking care of women,” Dr. Buskevicius said. “I get to make these long lasting relationships and help them through the good, the bad, the exciting and the terrifying. I get to be there for all of it.”
She graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 2006, earning a degree in psychology. Medical school at Creighton University was her next stop, followed by her obstetrics and gynecology residency at the University of Nebraska Medical Center.
Upon completion of her residency, Dr. Buskevicius took her medical expertise to Lincoln, where she began her OB/GYN career.
Throughout her medical training Dr. Buskevicius took on various leadership appointments, serving as administrative chief and on the clinical competency committee at UNMC, was a member of the CHI St. Elizabeth and Bryan Health OB/GYN department committees and the OB/GYN education committee at UNMC.
She has also found time to volunteer in the community taking part in food bank fundraiser, women’s health night, Lincoln Women’s Expo and the ACOG District VI diaper drive.
