Glynne Edwards, MD, has a passion for medicine and music because he believes that both allow for “lifelong learning.”

Dr. Edwards joins Methodist Physicians Clinic as an interventional cardiologist. He is fascinated by the heart’s ability to control harmony within the body.

“I think that’s one of the allures of cardiology that is so striking,” he said. “You can do something and almost instantly see the effect of it.”

Dr. Edwards believes that the most important part of a patient-provider relationship can be summed up in one word: trust.

“Part of establishing that trust is making your patient feel at ease and making that human connection,” he said.

Dr. Edwards sees a variety of patients and enjoys hearing from them following a procedure.

“It’s very gratifying when you’re able to provide care that gives patients a way to resume activities they were doing before, and you have patients say that they felt like they had years added back to their life.”

He believes The Meaning of Care involves a team effort.

The Meaning of Care is striving for the best outcome for your patient by a collaborative effort with your partners and peers, but framing that within the context of the patient’s social, mental and emotional well-being.”

When he’s not working, Dr. Edwards enjoys playing a variety of instruments, including the piano, guitar and trumpet. He also likes being active, watching sports, traveling and spending time with his wife and three children.
