Cardiologist Guneet Van De Graaff, MD, loves her work because of the difference she can make in patients’ lives.

“I love seeing people get better,” said Dr. Van De Graaff, who cares for patients at Methodist Physicians Clinic - Westroads Office Park and Methodist Physicians Clinic - HealthWest. “It’s most rewarding for me to see my patients recover from a critical illness and get back to their normal, healthy self. What I love about cardiology is that there’s a solution to almost every heart problem there is.”

Dr. Van De Graaff is passionate about preventive care and women’s health. She’s skilled in treating coronary artery disease, cardiac arrhythmias, congestive heart failure, valvular heart diseases and vascular diseases. But her first priority with patients is establishing a relationship built on trust, mutual respect and transparency.

“You build that by being approachable and making patients feel safe and cared for,” she said. “I have learned that I have the gift of people being able to open up to me and talk about anything and everything. I feel good about being their safe place.”

Whether it’s being a patient’s listening ear or guiding them through their care plan, Dr. Van De Graaff wants them to experience The Meaning of Care.

The Meaning of Care means selfless service,” she said. “It means helping improve others’ lives in any way, shape or form. To care is to be deeply human, and I want patients to know that I’m here to care.”

When she’s not caring for patients, Dr. Van De Graaff loves spending time with her family. She enjoys travel, reading, cooking, the outdoors and long walks with her husband and children.
