Dr. Jill Pollpeter joins family medicine team at Methodist Physicians Clinic - Northwest

Jill Pollpeter, MD, knew she wanted to become a physician after positive interactions with her own family’s doctor.

“He took care of me, my brother and my parents, and he was so approachable,” she said. “I never felt scared or nervous.”

As a family medicine provider at Methodist Physicians Clinic - Northwest, Dr. Pollpeter enjoys educating patients and empowering them to be active participants in their health.

“My goal whenever I’m in the exam room with a patient is not only to be a doctor but also to be a teacher,” she said. “I think it’s easier to understand something if you have someone who’s not only going to tell you what to do but also tell you why they’re giving you those recommendations.”

Dr. Pollpeter says that one of her favorite parts of the job is interacting with a variety of patients.

“I love getting to know people and helping them through what can sometimes be the worst day of their lives, sometimes the best day of their lives and sometimes just a Tuesday,” she said. "Just seeing them throughout their lives and watching them grow and change and work through hard challenges.”

She also likes helping patients navigate common conditions like diabetes or high blood pressure, as well as providing preventive health recommendations.

“I want to help you control your medical issues, but really, that’s just so that you can be the healthiest and happiest version of yourself.”

Outside of work, Dr. Pollpeter loves spending time with her husband, their dog and their backyard chickens. The Omaha native also enjoys hanging out with friends and exploring restaurants throughout the metro area.
