OMAHA  – Joining the staff at Methodist Estabrook Cancer Center was an easy decision for Dr. Angela Osmolak.

Dr. Osmolak is new to the Head and Neck Surgical Oncology Clinic, but she’s a familiar face, having worked with the team while a general surgery resident at Creighton University Medical Center.

“As a resident working with them, I got to know them so well. I looked up to many of them and how they approach their patients, their bedside manner. To have the opportunity to come back and be a part of that team that really inspired me to go into the field in the first place, it was an opportunity I was never going to pass up,” said Dr. Osmolak, who will also see patients at Methodist Jennie Edmundson Cancer Center.

Dr. Osmolak earned a bachelor’s in biochemistry from the University of Saint Thomas in Saint Paul, Minnesota. She completed her medical training at Creighton University School of Medicine. She was a head and neck surgical oncology fellow at the University of Oklahoma in Oklahoma City.

While she brings expertise in ablative and reconstructive surgery to Methodist, the self-described “people person” is just as concerned about her patients’ overall well-being.

“I think that sometimes the best thing you can do is sit down and listen to what they have to say … and really know who they are,” she said. “You address the psychological and emotional aspects because this disease is not just what's affecting them physically. It affects every single aspect of their life.”
