Women from throughout the Omaha area will gather on Saturday, Feb. 24, for Women Connect, a program launched by Methodist Hospital Foundation to educate and empower women to prioritize their health.

During Women Connect’s “Skin Health Simplified” event, Methodist experts Tomas Huerta, MD, and Susan Caniglia, MSN, APRN, will focus on the essentials: cancer prevention, smart skin care habits, acne, cosmetic procedures and more – what women should know for healthy, radiant skin at every stage of life.

“This is a conversation we need to be having because skin health impacts so many aspects of our lives,” said Tracy Madden-McMahon, president and CEO of Methodist Hospital Foundation. “We want to provide that space where women can ask questions and interact with our Methodist experts. Whether you’re interested in cancer prevention, acne or cosmetic procedures, no topic is off-limits.”

Following the panel discussion, attendees will have a chance to support Inner Beauty, a specialty salon at Methodist Estabrook Cancer Center. Donations will fund makeup and skin care services, wig fittings, and mastectomy garments for women in need.

The morning will also include a variety of experiences that promote healthy living:

•    Free massages
•    Free skin spot checks (join the waiting list)
•    Free skin product samples
•    Free nutrition advice for healthy skin

Women Connect is comfy, casual and free. The event is held at Nebraska Methodist College – The Josie Harper Campus. Doors open at 8 a.m., and the program begins at 9 a.m.
