COUNCIL BLUFFS - Hitting patient satisfaction marks and wound healing rates, both in the 90th percentile over a 12 month period, the Methodist Jennie Edmundson Hospital Advanced Wound Care Center has earned the Center of Distinction Award from Healogics. The Advanced Wound Care Center achieved marks of 96 percent, in both criteria areas, which was much higher than other recipients.

There were 635 Centers eligible for the award, but only 427 achieved the honor. Healogics is the nation’s largest provider of advanced wound care services.

“I am very proud of our team and the work we have done to achieve this award,” said Jennifer Fletcher, program director for the Advanced Wound Care Center at Methodist Jennie Edmundson Hospital. “To obtain patient satisfaction and wound healing rates in the 90th percentile takes a great deal of work, dedication and a strong desire to deliver a high level of care to our patients.”

The Advanced Wound Care Center is a member of the Healogics network of nearly 700 Wound Care Centers® and provides access to benchmarking data and proven experience treating approximately 2.5 million chronic wounds.

Methodist Jennie Edmundson Hospital’s Advanced Wound Care Center offers highly specialized care to patients suffering from diabetic ulcers, pressure ulcers, infections and other chronic wounds which have not healed in a reasonable amount of time.

Advanced treatments include negative pressure wound therapy, bio-engineered skin substitutes, hyperbaric oxygen therapy, biological and biosynthetic dressings and growth factor therapies.
