KETV: Cleaning Process Keeping Patients SafePublished: Feb. 19, 2015
CRE is a drug-resistant super bug that can spread during endoscopic procedures.
It takes longer to clean the scope than it does for doctors to perform the procedure.

But the staff at Methodist Hospital's GI Lab are okay with that lengthy cleaning process because they are doing their part to keep patients safe.
Mary Hawkins, GI Lab team leader and Dr. Schafer explain in this KETV Melissa Fry report.
