KETV: Cleaning Process Keeping Patients Safe

CRE is a drug-resistant super bug that can spread during endoscopic procedures.

It takes longer to clean the scope than it does for doctors to perform the procedure.

"I'd say I do 300-400 (endoscopic procedures) a year," Dr. Michael Schafer said.

But the staff at Methodist Hospital's GI Lab are okay with that lengthy cleaning process because they are doing their part to keep patients safe.
