Methodist cardiology team welcomes Dr. Hilal Olgun
Published: Aug. 14, 2026Whether she’s sharpening her skills as a cardiologist or meeting with her patients, Hilal Olgun, MD, is always listening and learning.
“The heart is an amazing organ, and I enjoy learning how it works,” said Dr. Olgun, who is now seeing patients at Methodist Physicians Clinic - Westroads Office Park and Methodist Physicians Clinic - HealthWest. “What makes cardiology especially exciting to me is how quickly the field continues to evolve. New research, imaging technologies and treatment options are constantly expanding what we're able to do for our patients.”
Dr. Olgun cares for patients with a range of complex heart conditions. She’s especially interested in valve disorders and cardiomyopathies – diseases that can weaken the heart or alter its function.
While the science of cardiology fascinates her, relationships are just as important.
“People are my favorite part of this profession,” she said. “I truly enjoy day-to-day interactions with my patients and my colleagues. The most rewarding moments are often the simplest ones – a smile, a heartfelt thank-you or hearing a patient tell me they're feeling better.”
That holistic approach to medicine, she said, is what The Meaning of Care is all about.
“It's about treating every patient as a whole person, building trust and providing the best care available,” she said. “Every patient is unique, and I want each one to feel heard, respected and involved in their care.”
Outside of work, Dr. Olgun spends much of her time with her husband and two children. They enjoy being outdoors, traveling and exploring new places. Her hobbies include painting and reading about history and art.
