Methodist Fremont Health relaunches AgeLess Program for area adults 55 and older

Published: Jan. 22, 2024

In an effort to improve the health and well-being of individuals 55 and older, Methodist Fremont Health is proud to announce the relaunch of its AgeLess Program.

The program, which was halted during the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic, is back to offer special discounts on wellness screenings and free educational programming that provides tips and information on living a healthy lifestyle.

SCREENINGS

Screenings – which require an appointment – will be offered 7-8:30 a.m., on the second Wednesday of each month. Those dates are:

  • Feb. 14
  • Mar. 13
  • Apr. 10
  • May 8
  • June 12
  • July 10
  • Aug. 14
  • Sept. 11
  • Oct. 9
  • Nov. 13
  • Dec. 11

The following screenings will be offered:

  • Wellness blood profiles, which provide a lipid panel, check kidney and liver function, and screen for diabetes, anemia, infection and more ($35)
  • Thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH) test, which checks thyroid function ($20)
  • Prostate-specific antigen (PSA) test, which screens for prostate cancer ($20)
  • Hemoglobin (HbA1c or A1c) test, which measures average level of blood sugar over the past two to three months ($20)
  • Hepatitis C antibody test, which can detect antibodies against the Hepatitis C virus (free)
All positive Hepatitis C results must be reported to the State of Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services.

A 10- to 12-hour fast is recommended for ideal screening results. If you’re taking medications, take them as scheduled unless told otherwise by your provider. You may drink water or black coffee while fasting. Screenings are not intended as a substitute for regular medical exams. All tests are offered at a reduced fee and cannot be billed through health insurance. Cash or personal checks will be accepted on the day of testing.
