OMAHA  –  Dr. James Maliszewski is big on relationships, and it’s easy to see why.

He is the oldest of five children born within 10 years, and family time remains important to the siblings in adulthood.

Dr. Maliszewski brings his focus on relationships to the internal medicine staff at Methodist Physicians Clinic HealthWest.

“My passion is really making connections with patients and their families,” he said. “I enjoy spending some time getting to know them and really learning from my patients before we proceed with whatever health care plan is really best for them.”

Dr. Maliszewski earned his medical degree from the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha and completed his internal medicine residency there. He was most recently an assistant professor and hospitalist at UNMC and Nebraska Medicine. He also has training in helping patients to quit smoking.

“It’s life-changing,” he said. “When a patient can really shake off the chains, so to speak, it’s freeing. And you’ll see that the next time you see them in clinic. That they have a new take on life, and they can start focusing on other aspects of their health.”

Dr. Maliszewski is eager to build the foundation of patient-doctor relationships at HealthWest.

“I’m looking forward to starting the journey with a number of families,” he said. “This is my job for the next 30 years, and I’m looking forward to getting started.”

Dr. Maliszewski is now seeing patients at Methodist Physicians Clinic HealthWest (16120 W. Dodge Frontage Road). Appointments can be made by calling 402-354-0550.
