Methodist Physicians Clinic welcomes internist Dr. Brett Begley
Published: July 31, 2025For Brett Begley, MD, choosing a career was easy. He was inspired by his parents – both teachers – to become a doctor.
“They instilled in me a love of learning and commitment to helping others,” he said. “Medicine allows me to do both every day.”
And he knew just what to specialize in on the first day of his internal medicine rotation, when he was challenged to “think like a doctor” and help care for a number of adult patients in clinic.
“I really enjoyed thinking critically about complex problems, and I enjoyed the variety,” said Dr. Begley, an internist who sees patients at Methodist Physicians Clinic and Methodist Hospital. “No two days in my practice are exactly the same, and I don’t know what stories or challenges are going to walk through the door.”
Methodist’s mission of putting patients first and its collaborative culture among providers is what drew him to the Methodist Physicians Clinic family.
“That’s what The Meaning of Care is all about,” he said. “It’s about putting the needs of patients above everything else and putting physicians in an environment where they can be collaborative and supportive in an effort to best care for those patients.”
And he wants each of his patients to know this: “When I’m taking care of you, I will focus on you as a whole person. I’ll focus on your values, goals and what truly matters most to you.”
Dr. Begley – a Nebraska native and Millard North High School graduate – spends most of his free time with his friends, family and two dogs. He also enjoys exercising and traveling.
