Methodist radiation oncology team welcomes Dr. Yoseful Haque
Published: July 31, 2024For radiation oncologist Yoseful Haque, MD, nothing is more important than earning a patient’s trust and confidence.
“It’s very special for me to help a patient undergoing a difficult treatment – helping them to come to grips with what might be a life-changing diagnosis for them and their loved ones, but also helping them understand what’s becoming an increasingly complicated way of treating cancer,” he said.
Dr. Haque was drawn to his specialty because of its use of cutting-edge technology, and he’s particularly interested in treating prostate and head and neck cancers. But his passions are educating his patients and building meaningful relationships.
“For me, The Meaning of Care is caring for them as a person, caring for them as a friend, caring for their family, caring about what happens to them,” he said. “It’s a pretty unique role we have, not only being the patient’s caregiver but also being a teacher and mentor while guiding them through treatment.”
At Methodist, Dr. Haque said, the culture of excellence puts providers and patients in position for success.
“Certainly there’s top-of-the-line equipment and staff, but there’s also a collegiality, kindness and respect that the employees have for each other. That translates to all of us working toward a collective goal of advancing care for the communities we serve.”
In his free time, Dr. Haque can be found spending time with his wife and French bulldog, Gerald. He also enjoys watching sports and is an Oklahoma Sooners and Dallas Cowboys fan.
