Millard Expands Family Medicine Providers, Welcoming Dr. Nasr and Dr. Rivett
Published: May 22, 2015(OMAHA) – The Methodist Physicians Clinic Millard location is expanding, bringing the total number of family medicine providers to six, with the recent addition of Dr. Reema O. Abou-Nasr and Dr. Austin Rivett.
After serving nearly 12 years as an assistant professor with the Department of Family Medicine at the Creighton University School of Medicine, Dr. Abou-Nasr has spent the past three years as a family medicine provider in Omaha. She is board-certified in family medicine.
She earned her bachelor’s degree at the University of Nebraska-Omaha and then completed her medical degree at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. Her residency training was completed at Creighton.
Throughout her training, Dr. Abou-Nasr has been active in the community speaking to various school-age groups about cardiac health, bicycle and helmet safety, school physicals, sexually transmitted diseases and prevention and the harmful effects of tobacco.
Dr. Abou-Nasr, who has an interest in women’s health prevention and early diagnosis of metabolic syndrome, enjoys gardening, traveling, cooking ethnic foods and spending time with family.
Dr. Rivett is no stranger to the Omaha health care scene, having worked as a family medicine provider in the Metro the past 12 years. Prior to his clinical duties, he was an associate attending staff member for Clarkson Family Medicine Residency.
He is a graduate of Nebraska Wesleyan University, earning both bachelor of science and bachelor of arts degrees. He then earned his doctor of osteopathic medicine degree at Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine in Kirksville, Missouri.
Board-certified in family medicine, Dr. Rivett is a member of the American Association of Family Physicians.
He and his wife, Mary, have two dogs and a cat. He enjoys outdoor cooking and smoking meats, fishing, hunting, boating, golfing and Kansas City Chiefs football.
