NMC Website Goes Pink to Announce Online Mammography Program
Published: Oct. 19, 2016OMAHA - The newest certification from Nebraska Methodist College has students seeing pink.
That’s because, to announce its online mammography program, the nursing and allied health institution has turned its entire website the color that signifies unwavering support for women’s health. The formation of this program coincides with National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and as such, visitors can expect the web transformation to last the entirety of October.
“What a perfect way to launch a program that will provide students with the background they need to make a real difference for women in their communities,” said Kathleen Rollins, director of the Radiologic Technology programs at NMC. “Following the college’s sonography program and the health system’s ongoing expansions to the state-of-the-art Women’s Hospital in West Omaha, the mammography certificate stands as one more example of the Methodist brand’s long-standing commitment to women’s issues in healthcare.”
Mammography continues a string of online programming that’s proven especially convenient for allied health professionals already working in their chosen fields.
The 9-credit hour certificate takes just one semester to complete, with practicing Rad Techs (RTs) expected to seek out, through their ongoing professional work, the clinical externship hours necessary to fulfill the requirements needed to attain Mammography (M) credentials on their license.
Two entry points are available. Practicing RTs may earn the certificate independent of other coursework, while students within the imaging sciences bachelor’s degree program can opt in to the mammography track while completing their BS degrees.
