Published: July 27, 2016

OMAHA  - The desire to see a patient all the way through their health care journey was one reason Stephen Tetrault, DO, chose family medicine as his specialty.

Dr. Tetrault recently joined the family medicine team at Methodist Physicians Clinic Hawthorne Court and is now welcoming patients to his practice.

Dr. Tetrault comes to Methodist from Clarkson Family Medicine where he has done his resident training and served as chief resident the past year.

“I want to be at the front lines of medicine,” Dr. Tetrault said. “I want to be there for my patients at the first sign of illness and streamline what’s going on with them so they don’t have to wait to be treated and get them the adequate treatment they need. I enjoy seeing people through any type of problem they are having.”

He attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, majoring in pre-medicine and mathematics. He was also a member of the Husker gymnastics team and was named Student Athlete of the Year in 2008. He also served as a graduate assistant for the gymnastics team for one year.

His doctor of osteopathy training was completed at the Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences, before returning to Omaha for his residency at Clarkson.

What is he most looking forward to as he begins his medical practice at Methodist Physicians Clinic?

“I want to be there for my patients when they are well and when they are sick,” Dr. Tetrault said. “They can trust me to be there when it’s needed. It’s important to be present and to listen. To think of them as a person and respond to their concerns.”
