KETV: Lung Cancer Screening Saving Lives

Published: Feb. 11, 2015

Forty-two million Americans smoke cigarettes and 480,000 die from doing so every year.

"That was always the concern, cancer," Jerry Moore of Omaha said.

After 38 years of smoking, Moore, who is a husband and grandfather, quit. However, that wasn't what saved his life.

Jerry is among the 100s of participants who have taken part in a lung cancer screening program at Methodist Estabrook Cancer Center. KETV"s Melissa Fry spoke with Jerry and Methodist Estabrook Cancer Center physician Dr. Pat Meyers.
