KPTM: Words of Wisdom for Heart Month

February is heart health month and both medical professionals and one transplant patient have a couple words of wisdom to keep us on track.

Last October Julie Pickett received a heart transplant just eight days on the waiting list. It was her second major surgery before doctors told her it was time for a new one. 

Heart problems run in the family.

Fox 42 reporter Kayla Van Wie shared Julie's story and spoke to Brenda Phillips, inpatient cardiopulmonary rehab nurse at Methodist Hospital, about the importance of heart health.
