Methodist welcomes interventional cardiologist Dr. Filip Oleszak

Published: Nov. 21, 2025

Filip Oleszak, MD, was inspired to study medicine because of the way his parents – physicians who immigrated to the U.S. from Poland – were dedicated to helping others.

“Despite the challenges they faced, I saw how hard they worked and how much they cared for the people around them,” he said. “That really motivated me to pursue a career where I could make a difference in people’s lives."

As an interventional cardiologist with Methodist Physicians Clinic – Westroads Office Park, Dr. Oleszak finds it very rewarding to have different avenues of care to impact a patient’s life.

“For example, if a patient comes in with a heart attack, you can quickly intervene, open up a blocked vessel and see immediate changes in symptoms and quality of life – which is extremely amazing,” he said.

Dr. Oleszak believes it’s important for his patients to know that he cares about each of them as individuals.

“I take the time to listen to their concerns, explain things in a way that makes sense and make sure they feel comfortable and supported,” he said. “My goal is to work together as a team to improve their health and help them feel confident in their care.”

He enjoys working at Methodist because he feels like he’s a part of a dedicated and cohesive team that provides optimal care for each patient.

“Not only are you supported by an excellent group of physicians, but you’re also surrounded by incredible nurses, techs and staff who truly care about their patients.”

When he’s not seeing patients in clinic or at the hospital, Dr. Oleszak, who is also fluent in Polish, enjoys traveling with his wife, exploring new restaurants and cooking. He also enjoys playing sports and watching soccer.
