Published: Nov. 13, 2024

Josie Abboud, executive vice president for Methodist Health System, has announced that Shanna Stofer, PharmD, MHA, has been chosen as vice president of Integrated Services for Methodist Health System.

Stofer is currently the vice president of ancillary and professional services at Methodist Jennie Edmundson Hospital. She succeeds Bill Vobejda, who was named president and CEO of Methodist Fremont Health in August, and will begin her new role on Nov. 18.

“Shanna will do an excellent job in this role,” Abboud said. “Her approachable leadership style and experience working collaboratively with teams will serve us well as she leads the Integrated Services division of Methodist Health System, supporting strategic goals across all Methodist affiliates.”

In her new role, Stofer will oversee Patient Transportation, Environmental Services, Food Services, Plant Engineering and Operations, Maintenance, Grounds, Mail/Courier Services, Safety, Security, Emergency Preparedness, Sustainability, Construction collaboration, Call Center, and PBX/Dial MD.

In her current role at Jennie Edmundson, Stofer oversees pharmacy, laboratory, imaging, oncology, rehabilitation services and quality management, including performance improvement, risk and infection prevention. She has a leadership role in identifying business growth opportunities, and she’s responsible for contractual arrangements. She also works closely with the provider team.

Prior to joining the Jennie Edmundson staff in 2021, Stofer was a key player in the opening of the Kearney Regional Medical Center (KRMC) in Kearney, Nebraska. She oversaw several ancillary departments and was a driver of business development opportunities. She also served as director of pharmacy for Lincoln Surgical Hospital from 2003 to 2009 before serving in a similar role at Community Memorial Hospital in Syracuse, Nebraska. Throughout her career, she has placed a high level of importance on provider collaboration, organizational culture and employee engagement.

“I’m very excited to join the strong Integrated Services leadership team and help continue the great work initiated by Bill Vobejda and so many others,” Stofer said. “I look forward to the work we’ll do to accomplish strategic goals across Methodist Health System.”

Stofer earned her doctor of pharmacy from the University of Nebraska Medical Center and a Master of Healthcare Administration from Bellevue University. She is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives and the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists.
