Chest pain requires an immediate, informed response — and Methodist’s heart attack response program provides just that. Available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, our teams quickly assess symptoms, perform necessary diagnostic testing and initiate treatment to determine the safest and most effective next steps.
Patients are evaluated by clinicians certified in advanced cardiac life support, helping ensure rapid, skilled decision making from the moment they arrive. Depending on their needs, evaluations may include:
- Diagnostic imaging
- Lab testing
- Stress testing
Heart attack response services are offered at Methodist Fremont Health, Methodist Hospital and Methodist Jennie Edmundson Hospital, giving patients in Fremont, Omaha and Council Bluffs and the surrounding areas immediate access to experienced cardiac care.
Methodist Hospital became the first hospital in Nebraska or Iowa and just the 15th nationally to be named an Advanced Comprehensive Heart Attack Center by Joint Commission. Comprehensive Heart Attack Centers are able to provide primary percutaneous interventions and cardiac surgery 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Methodist Jennie Edmundson Hospital became the first hospital in Iowa to be named a Primary Heart Attack Center by Joint Commission. One of the main requirements to be certified as a Primary Heart Attack Center is to have the ability to provide primary percutaneous interventions 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
