Dr. Jered Windorski Joins Methodist Physicians Clinic Surgery Staff
Published: June 27, 2022When Jered Windorski, MD, talks with his patients, he’s brings a unique perspective. He knows exactly what they’re going through.
“I had a lot of surgeries as a child,” said Dr. Windorski, a general surgeon at Methodist Physicians Clinic. “I remember what it was like to be on that side, and how frightening and frustrating it can be. I’m guided by remembering that.”
Dr. Windorski is skilled in open surgery as well as minimally invasive laparoscopy and robotic-assisted surgery. Whatever the procedure, he enjoys the difference he can make in a patient’s life.
“Surgery is a great way of effecting immediate change in a patient’s health,” he said. “A patient comes in with appendicitis. They hurt. They don’t feel well. I can take them to surgery and get that appendix out, and they generally feel much better when they wake up. I think that’s a powerful thing and a very rewarding aspect of being a surgeon.”
Dr. Windorski also values the “unique bond” he has with pre-op, operating room and post-op staff. But it’s caring for patients that really drives him.
“It’s sitting down with them, getting to know them and explaining the process to them,” he said. “And surgically, no patient is the same. There’s always that pursuit of perfection in every case that you do.”
When he’s not caring for patients, Dr. Windorski stays busy by spending time with his wife, two children and two dogs. His family especially enjoys cooking and spending time outdoors.
