Find a Provider
Meet our team of aortic specialists.

Why Methodist?

Because the aorta is the main artery that carries blood from the heart to other parts of the body, receiving an aortic disease diagnosis can be overwhelming. Our lineup of nationally respected and highly specialized providers from our cardiothoracic surgery and vascular and vein teams is experienced in managing and treating conditions involving the aortic root and aortic valve, and performing the most complex procedures involving the entire aorta and branch arteries. Our team is trained in minimally invasive endovascular procedures, complex open heart surgery and hybrid techniques.

Conditions

Our team treats a wide variety of chronic and acute aortic conditions, including:

  • Aortic aneurysm (thoracic, abdominal and thoracoabdominal)
  • Aortic arch aneurysm
  • Aortic dissection (type A and B)
  • Aortic disease due to connective tissue disorder (such as Marfan or Ehlers-Danlos syndromes)
  • Aortic infection
  • Aortic tumor
  • Ascending aortic aneurysm
  • Organ dysfunction due to aortic disease
  • Partial or full blockage of the aorta and any of its branches (occlusive disease)
  • Torn or weakened aorta
Patients must be referred to the Methodist Aortic Center after assessments by their primary care provider.
