April Haldeman, LIMHP
April Haldeman, MS, LIMHP, always knew she wanted to make a difference in the lives of others. That’s why she believes the Methodist Hospital Community Counseling Program is such a good fit for her. She recalls one of her favorite moments as a counselor:
“I worked with a teen mom with very little family support who really struggled but graduated from high school,” Haldeman said. “I ran into her a few years later, and she was doing great! It’s satisfying to know that clients go on and do very well.”
Haldeman especially enjoys helping clients address issues with depression and anxiety. She said working in schools helps her and other program counselors reach more clients and helps them experience The Meaning of Care.
“I like being able to easily coordinate with school staff, which can be beneficial in treatment for the client,” she said. “I think that making a meaningful, authentic connection is important so that the client trusts me and knows that I’m sincere.”
