Sarah Wiegman, LIMHP, LADC
As a counselor with the Methodist Hospital Community Counseling Program, Sarah Wiegman, LIMHP, LADC, strives to show every client The Meaning of Care.
“That means going above and beyond what someone would expect,” she said. “It means doing everything I can do to serve the needs of the client.”
Wiegman has training in dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), and drug and alcohol counseling. She frequently assists with clients working through depression, anxiety, trauma, substance abuse and grief.
“I enjoy being present for people who are going through a difficult time and creating a collaborative relationship where they feel safe to share their concerns and feel heard,” she said.
That goes for teens and adults, Wiegman said, and she’s proud to be part of a program devoted to eliminating barriers to mental health counseling.
“There is no magic in counseling,” she said. “It’s hard work on the part of the client to begin to make changes, and it’s rewarding to see that hard work help them get them toward their goals.”
