Alex Keogh, PLMHP, developed an interest in behavioral health during college. And now as a counselor for the Methodist Hospital Community Counseling Program, he believes in providing support to anyone in need.
“I want my clients to know that I’m their advocate, and I will support them so that they can reach their goals,” he said.
He has a special interest in various behavior therapies – such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness-based cognitive therapy (MBCT) and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) – as well as trauma-focused therapies and strength-based approaches.
“The most important part of the provider-patient relationship is connecting and developing rapport so we can provide quality treatment.”
He said that one of his career highlights is having the opportunity to lead a social skills group for middle-schoolers.
Outside of work, Keogh loves playing and watching sports.
