Methodist’s financial counselors provide free and confidential services to those in need. They approach each case with compassion, consistency and fairness and will work with you to identify and explain available options.

Physical Wellness
Staying active during and after cancer treatment is important. Physical wellness classes are tailored specifically for cancer survivors and include:
- Aerobics
- Massage (by appointment)
- Meditation
- Pilates
- Strength training
- Tai chi

Nutrition Services
Good nutrition is an important part of cancer treatment and recovery. Our board-certified dietitians will walk you through a comprehensive, individualized plan designed to help promote healing, improve your quality of life and minimize the unpleasant side effects of treatment. Nutrition services are offered at Methodist Estabrook Cancer Center, Methodist Fremont Health and Methodist Jennie Edmundson Cancer Center.
Your care team will work closely with you to help ensure that you are:
- Consuming adequate protein and calories
- Staying hydrated
- Keeping your weight stable
- Maintaining strength

Palliative Care
Our palliative care team – made up of physicians, nurse practitioners and nurses – is ready and willing to help you manage your symptoms while helping you and your family make the most informed medical decisions possible. Our staff helps you set health care goals and enhance your quality of life. We encourage you to start a conversation with your loved ones regarding your health care choices through advance directives, which may include:
- Power of Attorney for health care: This designates someone to make medical decisions.
- Living will: This provides guidance regarding the type of medical care that is desired or not desired.
You may be a candidate for palliative care if you’re suffering from:
- Alzheimer’s disease or dementia
- Cancer
- Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD)
- Heart disease and heart failure
- Renal failure
- Other chronic, life-limiting or life-threatening medical conditions

Inner Beauty: A Specialty Salon for Cancer Survivors
Cancer treatment can cause unpleasant side effects to your hair, skin and body. At Methodist, we’re dedicated to helping your inner beauty shine. Our clinical cosmetologists and certified mastectomy fitters will work with you to create a comprehensive, individualized appearance plan that may include:
- Makeup and skin care
- Post-mastectomy or lumpectomy garment and prosthesis fittings
- Scarf and hat styling demonstrations
- Wig fitting

Support services are offered as part of Harper's Hope, a cancer survivorship program. These services are provided to cancer survivors regardless of where they receive treatment.
