Methodist is home to one of the only full-service, multidisciplinary concussion program in Omaha. We offer specialized concussion treatment to ensure a safe return to school, work, sports and other activities. We also work closely with other members of your care team, which may include:
- Neurologists
- Neuro-optometrists
- Neuropsychologists
- Physiatrists
- Primary care providers
Occupational Therapy
Our occupational therapists can help identify and treat visual deficits that can occur after a concussion. We provide education and help you with:
- Adaptations to school and work environments
- Light and noise sensitivity
- Sleep deprivation
Physical Therapy
Our physical therapists can help treat a number of symptoms related to a concussion, including:
- Balance issues
- Decreased activity tolerance
- Dizziness
- Headaches
- Neck pain
These symptoms can be treated through several methods, including:
- Aerobic exercise
- Balance training
- Vestibular and other rehabilitation
Speech Therapy
Our speech therapists can help treat a variety of issues related to:
- Attention
- Memory
- Organizational and study skills
- Problem-solving
- Processing speed
- Reasoning
- Time management
Our therapists will educate, train and help you implement strategies to assist you in your home, school and work environments.
