Virginia Porter, CMSW, LMHP
Virginia Porter, CMSW, LMHP, a social worker with the Methodist Hospital Community Counseling Program, is passionate about working with youths and their families.
She’s particularly interested in helping clients navigate grief and incorporate more self-care into their daily lives.
“Something as simple as journaling three things that you’re grateful for or learning deep breathing exercises can create such a big impact on someone’s life, how they view the world and how they cope with change,” Porter said.
To her, The Meaning of Care is simply the act of showing someone you truly care. And she’s grateful to have such opportunities through Methodist.
“Here, you feel like an individual and not a number,” she said. “It’s big enough to provide access to resources but small enough to have those meaningful and personal relationships with those you work with.”
Porter, a busy wife and mom, enjoys spending free time with her family and two dogs.
