Why Methodist?
Postpartum depression and other similar mental health disorders are some of the most common and most serious complications surrounding pregnancy in the United States. Nearly 20% of women experience a mood disorder during or after pregnancy. And although it's less common for fathers, about one in 10 experience a mental health issue following the birth of a child.
At Methodist, we’re committed to ensuring that every pregnant and postpartum patient is screened for mood and/or anxiety disorders, which can negatively impact the health and well-being of them and their families. We’re dedicated to connecting those who need counseling or additional assistance with the most appropriate resources and treatment available.
If you or someone you know needs immediate support, call or text the National Suicide and Crisis Lifeline at 988 – or call 911.
