Why Methodist?
Our professionally licensed and certified oncology social workers are dedicated to helping cancer patients, their families and their caregivers overcome obstacles in receiving necessary treatments. They are trained to help address the emotional toll of cancer and provide necessary resources on the path toward survivorship.
Social work services are available to all Methodist cancer patients and include support and resources for:
- Advanced directives and care planning
- Caregiver stress
- Emotional distress
- Financial concerns
- Home health or hospice care
- Palliative care
- Practical barriers to care
- Transportation and lodging needs
In addition to our social workers’ extensive knowledge of available resources through Methodist’s network of clinics and providers, they can connect patients with appropriate community resources and organizations as needed.
