Heather Dearinger, LIMHP
Heather Dearinger, LIMHP, a practitioner with the Methodist Community Counseling Program, enjoys having the opportunity to connect with and support others, especially teens.
“It’s incredibly rewarding to create a safe space where clients feel heard, understood and empowered to grow,” she said. “Watching someone gain insight, build resilience and move toward healing is both humbling and fulfilling.”
Dearinger believes The Meaning of Care means “showing up with compassion, empathy and a genuine commitment to the well-being of others.”
“It’s about being present, listening without judgment and treating each individual with dignity and respect,” she said. “True care involves recognizing the humanity in every person and doing everything possible to support their healing, growth and sense of hope.”
She believes that trust creates a solid foundation in the patient-provider relationship.
“A strong, trusting relationship helps foster collaboration and empowers patients to take an active role in their own healing,” she said.
Outside of work, Dearinger values quality time with her family, friends and dogs. She enjoys spending time outdoors, listening to music and reading.
“I try to live by the same things I encourage my clients to do: Make space for joy, take care of yourself and give yourself grace along the way.”
