Adrian Lynn-Genevieve, PLMHP, became interested in mental health after taking an introductory psychology class in high school.

“I have always been highly interested in how people ‘work’ and have felt called to help others for a very long time,” they said.

As a practitioner with the Methodist Community Counseling Program, Lynn-Genevieve particularly enjoys working with the LGBTQ+ community and college-age clients.

Their specific areas of interest include neurodiversity, post-traumatic stress disorders, trauma and queer-related issues.

Lynn-Genevieve believes The Meaning of Care requires purposeful interactions.

“It means being intentionally empathetic about a client’s worldview in order to meet them where they’re at,” they said.

Lynn-Genevieve emphasizes incorporating each client’s input during sessions.

“I value a person-centered approach and want my clients to feel that they are genuinely being heard throughout their healing journey,” they said.

Outside of work, Lynn-Genevieve enjoys traveling across the globe to new places, playing video games and spending time with their wife and cats.
