Ryan Brown, PLMHP
Ryan Brown, PLMHP, has long had an interest in behavioral and mental health. But he became keenly aware of their importance during his time as an educator teaching young adults – a population he especially enjoys working with.
Brown, a practitioner with the Methodist Community Counseling Program, is trained to address an array of behavioral and mental health challenges, including anxiety, depression and lack of self-worth. He enjoys helping his clients uncover their strengths and bolster their relationship skills.
Mindfulness-based therapies emphasizing acceptance and equanimity are some of his favorite, most effective techniques he incorporates into his work. But one of his most powerful tools, he said, is The Meaning of Care.
“To me, The Meaning of Care means that all needs are not only accepted but valued,” Brown said. “Because they are central to what is required for each of us to grow.”
To each of his clients, he promises authenticity, competence and professionalism.
“I have a sincere desire to help and relate to each individual I meet. I believe in a collaborative, client-centered environment that fosters work on what truly matters most to them.”
Brown’s personal interests include team sports – especially basketball and soccer – creative expression, positive self-development, and exploring ideas with others.
