Natalie Nelson, PLMHP, PCMSW
Natalie Nelson, PLMHP, PCMSW, developed interests in behavioral and mental health in college thanks to a couple passionate instructors who taught social work and Spanish.
“Their excitement about their work got me excited and interested in helping others who speak Spanish and need assistance navigating our culture,” Nelson said.
Nelson, a counselor with the Methodist Hospital Community Counseling Program, has experience working with abuse survivors and leading cognitive and dialectical behavioral therapies (CBT and DBT). She especially enjoys leading therapeutic groups and providing individual treatment.
She believes that The Meaning of Care is focusing on the patient’s specific needs.
“The most important part of the provider-patient relationship is making sure the patient knows I care,” Nelson said. “Each person has a unique situation but is never alone in their struggles.”
