Trista Hemenway, LICSW
Behavioral Health Therapist II
Trista Hemenway, LICSW, a therapist with the Methodist Community Counseling Program, is deeply passionate about supporting individuals on their path to healing and stability.
With years of experience working in behavioral health and with at-risk populations, she specializes in supporting older adults living with serious and persistent mental illness (SPMI). She’s particularly invested in helping clients navigate depression, anxiety and bipolar disorder.
Hemenway’s counseling style is both direct and compassionate, grounded in respect and a genuine desire to help each and every client overcome obstacles and reach their goals.
“Our relationship must feel safe for the patient to grow and try new things without embarrassment or shame,” she said.
She finds the greatest fulfillment in seeing clients gain insight and apply new tools in their daily lives. One of her most meaningful experiences was watching a former client maintain stability and go on to become a peer support specialist, helping others on similar journeys.
